Dr. Brad Wenstrup is a lifetime resident of Cincinnati. He attended St. Xavier High School and proceeded to obtain a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1980.
Dr. Wenstrup attended the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago, Illinois, where he obtained a medical degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Wenstrup completed his surgical residency at Thorek Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.
After completing his residency, Dr. Wenstrup went into sole practice in Downtown, Cincinnati, where he practiced from 1986 until 2001. He became a full partner with Wellington Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in June, 2000. In addition to running his own practice for several years, he immediately became involved with the Executive Committee of Wellington Orthopedics where he served as Operations Chairman. Dr. Wenstrup is Board certified with American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and serves as an official spokesman for the ACFAS.
In Feb. 1998, Dr. Wenstrup decided to take his commitment to service even further by accepting a commission with the U.S. Army Reserve. Shortly thereafter, Major Wenstrup received a phone call informing him he would be deployed to Iraq for at least one year. On April 15, 2005, Major Wenstrup reported for duty at Ft. McCoy, Wisconsin. On June 7, 2005, Task Force 344 Med left Ft. McCoy for Iraq.
Major Wenstrup was tasked with several roles with the 344th Combat Support Hospital. He serves as the Podiatrist and the Chief of Surgery as well as the Director of the Wound Care Clinic. Also, Dr. Wenstrup was the assistant to the Deputy Commander of Clinical Services. The mission also included caring for Soldiers, Marines and civilians. The unit was tasked with the responsibility of winning over the "hearts and minds" as well as restoring America's honor. In addition to his military and medical service, Dr. Brad Wenstrup serves his community as a volunteer. He joined Big Brothers of America in 1988 and still maintains contact with his "little brother" and his family on a regular basis. Brad also serves as a Board Member of Boys Hope/Girls Hope, which provides scholarships to many local Cincinnatians starting in grade school and seeing them through college and postgraduate studies. Brad Wenstrup is an active member of the Cincinnati Rotary and is the Founder of Thank America First Foundation (the good deeds and accomplishments of America and its citizens).
Dr. Wenstrup was awarded the 2008 Alumnus of the Year by the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Wenstrup resides in Mt. Lookout and still serves as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve.
